Somebody asked me if I go to the townships often seeing all the township photos I post. I don't venture into the township on my own, but I have had the opportunity to accompany two groups of journalists on township tours conducted by Luvo Ndima of Jama Tours recently. A lot of tour operators around South Africa do a bus window view of the townships and mostly just drive through pointing out the sights. Luvo stops the vehicle quite often to get out and allow his guests to get a more personal experience interacting with the locals. Here Luvo is telling the visitors about the traditional herbs and medicines for sale in Njoli Square.
